Wall E

While my parents were in Disneyland they treated us to go see the latest Disney/Pixar movie: Wall E. This was a cute movie and I really liked it. However, Jared got a little bored as there was very few dialogue in the movie and pretty much you just watched these two robots trying to stay together and do what is required of them. The characters were really cute, though, and that kept my attention - and the animators did a GREAT job at giving both Wall E and Eve some great emotions. The movie did get a bit preachy on the people are too fat and people need to take care of the environment angles - but then, that was the plot. Overall, I'd say this is a great dollar theater pic unless you have a small child that really wants to go see it now. Basically, you won't be bored, but it's not Cars, The Incredibles, Toy Story, either.

Time to Update

I can't believe that July is almost over! We have been so busy - A week and a half in Boise visiting the family, then a week with Mom and Matt here to help with Megan and Thomas. This past week we were housesitting for my parents who were in Disneyland, and this week I start workshops for my new teaching position in the fall. I am very excited to get started. I keep having crazy dreams that school has been going for a week and I still don't have my disclosure statements passed out. I know this sounds OCD, but in my disclosures I have parents tell me about medical concerns for their children, which is necessary in my profession. Oh well, you guys can say it - I'm a geek. Thursday night we will be going to Idaho for Tyler & Carissa's wedding, and we will stay for a little bit after that to help Mom clean up and unwind. School starts for me on August 18, so I'm sure the week before that I'll be at the school doing meetings and classroom setup. I have loved this summer, getting to stay home with Jared and playing around has been really nice; but it will be fun to start a new school and have stuff to do with my days again. We're also pretty excited that Jared only has two semesters left: Fall and Winter! Then he will graduate next April and we will be on our way to the future!

Thomas Andrew Hutchins

Megan and John finally picked a name for their baby son. John wants to call him Thomas and Megan wants to call him Andrew, so what he'll be going by is still up in the air. However, the birth certificate reads Thomas Andrew. Here's the little one blowing bubbles, and one of Matt holding the little one - the only picture so far with the baby's eyes open.

I'm an Aunt!

Thursday, July 10, at 10:04, Jared's sister Megan had her baby. He is 8 lbs and 19 in and loves to scream - loudly. He is very cute and Megan and John both look very tired, but happy. They haven't settled on a name yet, but I'll post when they do. I've added more pics of mom and Megan and the baby in the hospital.

Missed It By That Much...

Holy cow! We went to see Get Smart this past Saturday and it was hilarious! It is rare that a funny movie comes out and the trailer doesn't give away all the good parts, but this wasn't one of those times. In fact, I think the trailer showed the least funny parts. I am seriously considering paying full price to go see it again rather than merely waiting for the dollar theatres. Jared and I are in Idaho right now and we went with his parents, his brothers, Matt, Chris, and Tyler, and Tyler's fiancee, Karissa. I haven't heard Jared laugh so much in a long time. Steve Carell landed the part of Maxwell Smart so well, even down to the same voice inflections at times as the original TV series. Anne Hathaway was beautiful and charming as well as the comedianne that I loved in her when I first saw Princess Diaries. I will definiely see this movie again and definitely own it when it comes out. I encourage all of you to go see this movie. My favorite line? "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, chief?..." I won't ruin it for you guys, you'll know the line when you hear it.
