My Birthday

I took my birthday off work and loved sleeping in and spending the day with Jared. I got many well wishes from family and friends, and after taking a long bath got to go to the mall with my husband. Jared gave me a beautiful green sweater, the Red Killer Bunnies expansion, and tickets to go see A Christmas Carol at the West Valley Hale Theatre. We also went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill. I had a wonderful day. It was so fun to stay home and relax and not worry about work or students. I also loved lunch/dinner with my parents and grandparents at Tucanos. I love the Christmas season! Everyone seems to be kinder and more hopeful. I love that we all still celebrate the birth of Christ (even though some people don't think that's what this holiday is about). I love the snow and watching Christmas and family movies, I love delivering neighbor gifts and wrapping presents. I'm so excited to give Jared his gift, I can't believe I've kept it a secret all this time!

Halloween

Halloween at school is very fun! The kids are all so hyper that we don't do any work all day long. Basically we just played, read stories, and ate a bunch of candy. Most kids dressed up, although we had a few who didn't. From left to right are Brandi/Cheerleader, Jalissa/Hannah Montana, Treasure/Princess, Camille/Devil, Kali/Hannah Montana, and Nic/Jack Skellington.

Family

So, Jared's family came down and spent the weekend with us. It was fun having all of us together. Mom and Dad hadn't seen our new apartment, they really liked it. I think Mom's favorite part was that we have an actual kitchen. Six people in a two bedroom, one bath apartment worked out a lot better than you would think, too. We went shopping to see if Matt could find something to buy himself for Christmas, and to look for a print for Mom's kitchen. I don't think she found anything, but it was fun to spend time with them. Plus, any day that I get to take off work, sleep in, shop, and play games with my family is awesome! My parents and Jennie drove down and we all went to Zupas for dinner. I like their tomato soup. We also went to the BYU/TCU football game. It was fun, and I stayed for almost the whole game. It was a night game; so I got tired and went home after the third quarter. BYU won, though, which was awesome. The final score was 27 to 22, even though we were robbed of two touchdowns due to bogus calls. Jared loved being with his family and I loved sharing something that Jared loves with the family as well. We hadn't all been together since the summer. The only one we were missing was Tyler, but he had class (dang colleges). Oh, and Matt has become enthralled with Kingdom Hearts, so we're going to have to take the PlayStation home for Thanksgiving.

In the beginning...

So, I've started a blog. I used to have one on myspace, but that place just got crazy. Also, since I work at a public highschool, myspace is blocked. However, I do need an outlet for my randomocity (although my husband tends to absorb most of it now). Anyway, I love fall. I love the fact that it rains here, and that the colors are so bright. I love the crunchy leaves on the sidewalk and I love my anniversary. Jared bought me a dozen yellow roses and a wedding band. It was a lovely day, just me and him. Jared also cooked breakfast, then we went out to dinner at Red Lobster. I ordered a margarita that was as big as my head, so we ended up sharing it. It was way good food - Jared had seven plates of shrimp!
I can't believe that it's been a year since we were married. It seems that we've been together forever, and that the wedding was just a really big party that we threw last year.
