Trunk or Treat!

Our ward has a trunk or treat party/chili cook-off every year.  This was the first year we went and we had a great time.  Kaity loved her costume so much she started dancing when we put it on and it was a battle to get it off for jammies that night.  At first, Kaity wasn't so sure about taking other people's candy, but soon enough she got the hang of walking up to people, looking at them cutely, getting candy, and putting it into her bucket.  She was especially good with the concept of "pick one" (and only one).  The last picture is of Kaity singing into the mic at the ward party.  She was totally into her performance.

Sadly, I didn't notice until I got home that Kaity had put a beautiful thumbprint on the lens, so sorry about the blurry pics.  I have cleaned the lens for Halloween tomorrow.

A Princess and Twins!

So, for Halloween Kaitlyn was a princess.  She wasn't entirely sure about the trick-or-treating thing when we first gave her the pumpkin basket.  However, after the first 2 houses of ringing the doorbell and then getting candy, she loved it!  It was raining here so we drove to a few selected houses in my old neighborhood.  Kaitlyn ate far too much candy and had a great time!  Also, while we were in West Jordan, my dad fixed my sewing machine.  (Yes, I just got it back from the shop after a six week stay and, as always, there is always more wrong when you get the machine back than when you took it in).  Anyway, I celebrated by making myself this adorable wrap skirt.  I got the pattern off the blog Chocolate on my Cranium.  Anyway, I had some leftover fabric so I made Kaitlyn a skirt this morning.  We matched at church today and got many compliments.  I love it!  The skirt is warm, flattering, cute, and adjustable for when I either lose weight or get pregnant!  (Opposite effects on the skirt, but both goals that I will be happy with in any order).

And We're Back

Here's the ginormously long update. For Halloween Kaitlyn was a pumpkin. We went to my parent's house and my dad and I took Kaitlyn trick or treating. She loved being outside and visiting other people. We went to three houses :) Thanksgiving brought us to Boise with the Browns. We enjoyed lots of games, yummy food, and fun family. We put up the Christmas tree and had fun with cousin Thomas. Kaitlyn is excited for her new cousins to get here this year - one in January and one in June. For Christmas we went to Grandma Z's on Christmas Eve. It was so much fun to see everyone. Christmas morning we got to spend together as our own little family - and loved every minute of it! Kaitlyn got a seahorse named Shelby that plays music. She loves it! She likes to talk to it, hug it, and eat it of course! Later that afternoon we went up to my parents for dinner with my grandparents and all of my sister's in-laws. It was fun to play games and get to know the Petersons better. We are excited to begin a new year with our little family and look forward to everything it will bring.

The Legend of Zelda...

Holy cow! My sister told me about this today and I just had to put it up here for y'all to see - it's amazing! My friend Jen made this costume (actually, both of her sons wanted to be Link, so she made two!) for her son Dax. It's awesome and Dax totally has the look down pat for the Hero of Time. Apparently, however, several people in their ward didn't know who Link was...what rock have they been hiding under for the past 23 years?

Halloween

Halloween at school is very fun! The kids are all so hyper that we don't do any work all day long. Basically we just played, read stories, and ate a bunch of candy. Most kids dressed up, although we had a few who didn't. From left to right are Brandi/Cheerleader, Jalissa/Hannah Montana, Treasure/Princess, Camille/Devil, Kali/Hannah Montana, and Nic/Jack Skellington.
